New England Venture Investment Way Down In First Quarter

According to two recent reports, New England venture capital investment has fallen sharply. Just how much is a matter of debate. The MoneyTree report from the National Venture Capital Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers says investment dropped by 24%, while the Dow Jones VentureSource reported a 36% drop. The discrepancy is attributed to differences in methodology. Information technology received the largest portion of investments, followed by biopharmaceuticals.
