Last night I was walking by the offices of
Backchannelmedia. I never heard of them, but after some research this morning, discovered they have created a very cool technology to make TV more interactive. Their technology is integrated into your cable box. When you see a pop-up graphic on TV for a website, you can click on it, so it's tagged on your Backchannelmedia profile online. Channel 5 in Boston is going to start
experimenting with it soon. Check out the video below from "Greater Boston" on WGBH about this new technology:
Very interesting. thanks for sharing that. there also seems to be more movement about the integration of communities and social media into TV. What do people think about the convergence of the triple play? will people use TV to engage social media or will the smaller screens (PC or mobile device) dominate how people view TV?
